I STUDIO LOGO RESEARCH

My studio I was thinking what design i' m looking for is something really creative

This website I have the idea of making  something creative different . The idea will have 3D TEXT and I will sketch design and put them in my illustration to make something difference.
I like the idea of using lines within lines, but I also wanted to make a 3D looking logo.

UNIT16 : PROJECT WORK

We have been give a project to design a logo for istudio. So I started by researching existing logos in the design area. I began by looking at the logos below and writing about them.
This is the link to the brief.

Logobee says a logo is:

A Logo is a design symbolizing ones organization. It is a design that is used by an organization for its letterhead, advertising material, and signs as an emblem by which the organization can easily be recognized, also called logotype. Logotype is a graphic representation or symbol of a company name, trademark, abbreviation, etc., often uniquely designed for ready recognition.
(https://www.logobee.com/feature3.htm) accessed 23rd Jan. 2017

I have realised that there are different types of logo. They can be described as: wordmark (just the word of the name), lettermark (maybe just the initials), brandmark (symbol or icon), combination mark (letters and icon/symbol) and emblem (text, lettering inside symbol).

Uniqlo logo
The first logo I looked at is taken from the web for a company called Uniqlo. The logo is in English and Japanese. The colour is red because the company is Japanese and the colour of their flag is red. Because the red is so bright there is a good contrast with the white. This is important on the web site to catch the attention of the viewer.
This logo is very simple with white lettering on the red background shapes all drawn as squares. The letters are upper case (capital letters), and are san-serif letters. They look more modern.
To create this logo in Illustrator would be easily done. You would create a file and then using the rectangle tool (hold down the shift to keep it square) draw out a square shape. This can then be copied and pasted more times to create the four shapes.
The type tool would be used to create the letters for the name in capitals. The Japanese letters could be created by using the rectangle tool to look like the letters. Some of the shapes would be compound paths.
Here I have shown how I would do this in illustrator using the pathfinder panel. Two squares were placed over each other and the top one was taken away from the bottom one. This made a hole in the middle.

This image is very formal and business like and would most likely fit a bank logo! It reminds me of the Nat West bank logo. Perhaps this is not such a good idea for a design studio logo.
It is considered as a Combination mark and with it, it looks less modern than the one below.
It includes several bright colors like pink, blue or violet and some brownish colour possibly bronze.
Its shape is also very square with the text remaining nice and smooth, it also may have been made by using drop shadows.

The logo has a grey frame to make the inner picture stand out. The red square in the frame has a bold font text saying 'no pic nic' in the middle. The red is used to expand the text and make it stand out. The red colour used in the logo doesn't blend in with the other colours however it may be the first thing you are attracted to.
I have mentioned above how this logo could be created using Ilustrator.

The background has a gradient effect to it. Starts from grey down to black, the background seems to have space, where if someone is able to walk into it. Colour is a mixture of black, grey and white to create the word imagination. As for the style it looks very urban. The letters are squashed together and sharp. The  letters look agressive. Graffiti art sometimes has a similar look and feel to it. This can attract younger audiences. The logo looks a little like a game logo so perhaps more for a younger audience.
